This project was assigned in Motion Graphics class. The objective was to make an informative and educational video on a certain topic; I chose the issue of reincarceration in the United States, an issue I believe to be very important in today’s society. I learned a lot by doing the research on this subject and writing a gripping and enlightening script. I took inspiration from the many educational youtube videos in this vein, such as the work of Fredrik Knudsen and Kurzgesagt, and added my own pseudo-3D style of illustration.

I used Photoshop and Illustrator to make the assets and graphics and After Effects to arrange and animate them. Doing my own voice-over narration was unfamiliar territory for me, but I was very happy with how it turned out. In the end, this project became one of my most successful assignments and a great addition to my portfolio.
