Amaranth
Amaranth was a pop-up restaurant officiated by culinary students of my alma mater, Johnson & Wales University. I and two other designers worked on the logo, menu, and coasters, channeling the natural and autumnal theme of the food. Not only did we design the deliverables, but we were in charge of printing and producing physical materials. The menus and coasters were used in the restaurant, so they were held to a high standard of quality and durability.
In the design team, my responsibilities included the logo design and the coasters, as well as general development of the artistic direction. The logo is the letter A hidden inside a representation of the Amaranth flower for which the restaurant is named. It reminds the viewer of nature, comfort, and good food. This logo was then burned onto the birch wood coasters, a more unique and sustainable option than the standard plastic.
